Am Ruder

Michael Schröder is the owner of a floundering gym. And his marriage to Elisabeth, a wealthy lawyer from an aristocratic family, is just a piece of paper. She openly flaunts her love affair with Cornelius, but divorce is out of the question for a woman of her renown.

Since Michael is financially in deep trouble, Elisabeth arranges a loan for him. However, when he enters the bank, he is taken hostage by a bank robber.

Outside the bank, a large force of police is at the ready. The officer-in-charge Goede and the prosecutor Duve try to stall the robber.

Inside a war of nerves begins between the hostage and the hostage-taker. The masked bank robber turns out to be a woman, Nina. She seems to be aggressive, suicidal and unpredictable. The grueling wait for ransom and for the getaway car welds the hostage and hostage-taker together as companions in fate. Michael even knows who they could demand even more money from. But then suddenly things get out of control.
